Good-bye forever Busch Stadium!
Saturday, January 7, 2006: The World Baseball Clasic will begin on March 3rd, and will last untill March 20th. There will be 16 international teams. Many of today's stars will be playing in the WBC, including: Albert Pujols (Dominican), Alex Rodriguez (USA), Ichiro Suzuki (Japan) and many more! For more coverage got to: http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/wbc/index.jsp In other news, there is NO MORE 'old' Busch Stadium. It has been compeletly torn down (since early December of 05.) Originally, workers didn't expect the stadium to be gone untill summer of 06, but it's gone way before that. The sign is on the New Busch Stadium as well.....Manny Ramirez demanded to be traded, then he said he didn't want to be traded, then he demanded to be traded again, and now he says he doesn't want to be traded...or did he?? Ramirez denies that he said he didn't want to be traded (the 2nd time he 'said' it.) This guy needs to MAKE UP HIS MIND!!!!
Monday, November 7, 2005: The demolition on Busch Stadium officially begins. (See the St. Louis Cardinals 2005 page for more...you can also go to this link: http://stlouis.cardinals.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20051104&content_id=1264812&vkey=news_stl&fext=.jsp&c_id=stl
The Cardinals fell to the Astros in game 6 of the NLCS. It was the final game ever at Busch Stadium. Already, the workers have started taking down Busch Stadium, and the Stan Musial statue is scheduled to be moved on Friday, October 21, 2005. Today (Thursday, Oct. 20, 05) the Cardinal players started packing thier stuff up. So Taguchi took his Mercades out on the outfield and made donuts! Game 6 was also Larry Walker's last game. He is retiring this year, and I'm gonna miss him alot!
Good-Bye Busch Stadium!
